PREM RAWAT IN BRIGHTON, UK - 7th June 2015 -- Written by David Baboulene
A happy throng descended on Brighton, UK on Sunday to listen to Prem Rawat’s message of peace on his first visit to the city since 2011.
The event began with a short film, looking back on Prem Rawat's life, dedicated to spreading his words of peace for what will be 50 years in 2016, and celebrating some of his remarkable achievements, such as speaking at Peace events for the European Union, becoming a Peace Ambassador in Italy, and ongoing initiatives such as his highly successful peace education program and his work with patients and prisoners.
Prem Rawat then came to the stage to a standing ovation and spoke for more than an hour, explaining that he is not THE peace ambassador -- we are ALL peace ambassadors. That world peace is not the aim and cannot be achieved –- certainly not through ‘pacts’, ‘politics’ or by ‘coming together’. Peace can be found inside each of us as individuals, and if we each choose to find that peace and to appreciate life, that is how we can make a difference and become fulfilled.
He spoke passionately to the thousands gathered about the difference between merely existing for our time on earth and living a life in knowledge and appreciation. He was keen to emphasise that finding peace and clarity is a process of simplifying; of untangling ourselves from the web of our complex lives and releasing ourselves... ‘not drowning in a river of questions, but swimming free in an ocean of answers.’
The talk ended on a positive note, with Prem Rawat explaining that although realities involve life and death, and bad times as well as good, he finds on his travels that his message of peace is spreading fast, embracing and helping more and more people around the world every day.
