A report from Ronnie Cray, the PEP Promotion Lead for Peace Partners, and a member of the TPRF PEP Facilitator Development Team. He can be contacted by email here:
[email protected].

We want to express our appreciation for the support of our donors and volunteers. It is a wonderful privilege to be able to collaborate with you in helping deliver this life-changing programme!

● Peace Partners recently hosted two virtual 10 week PEP workshops, one for long-term supporters of the programme and one for participants new to the programme, both of which have just been completed.

● Further PEP facilitator training and refresher workshops are being supported.

● The outreach promotion strategy currently relies on word-of-mouth sharing; it is important to keep group sizes small for effective interaction during the course; a graphic designer has recently been invited to join the PEP outreach team to create posters.

● Peace Partners is also providing support to the team in the UK delivering the educational version of PEP, which is now called the TPRF Peace Education Programme for Higher Education.

● The team has been working in partnership with TPRF to refresh the PEP pages on our website pages, and this has now been completed successfully. The new pages are now live on the website and can be viewed here.

● Peace Partners September 21st International Peace Day promotions included a special newsflash in which the global success of the programme was celebrated. The review of our local efforts said “The team has supported and promoted efforts of TPRF volunteers to deliver the programme in the UK over a number of years, through financial support by donors, through the provision of equipment and facilities for in person and virtual versions of the workshop based course, and through outreach efforts to engage with partner organisations and individuals who may be interested.”

● Anyone can individually contact TPRF directly for information about both in person and virtual PEP courses which are available in communities in their countries, and they will be advised on the most appropriate courses. Peace Partners works closely with TPRF to present courses which are registered for in this way. The inquiry email address is [email protected]. Further information can be found here.

Peace Partners has been able to provide a number of grants to the TPRF PEP initiative at HMP Leeds. One of the participants at the Leeds programme, Billa Nanra, returned to become an active facilitator himself, and has recently spoken to a leading probation and parole association about his transformative experience. Volunteering Opportunities

We are looking to expand our team of volunteers, who provide the essential - and invaluable - support needed for Peace Partners' work. We would welcome expressions of interest in the following vacancies:
Finance Trustee

We are looking for a Finance Trustee. This is a new position created by splitting the formerly combined role of Trustee and Treasurer into two: Finance Trustee and Treasurer.

This is an opportunity for the right person to help this small UK Charity play a key part in initiatives to help ordinary people pursue peace in their lives;

Peace Partners works with like minded agencies in this capacity, both as a fund raising vehicle and in promoting and supporting the Peace Education Programme in the UK. Our main partner in this endeavour is the Prem Rawat Foundation, an international tax exempt non profit organisation, and the creator of the Peace Education programme.The Finance Trustee as the guardian of the Charity’s financial integrity has a key role in the decision making of the board, and supervision of the small finance team consisting of Treasurer, Bookkeeper and Donor Liaison Secretary;

The post holder will have or need to develop a working grasp of Charity Law, online payment systems and our accounting software. We expect the successful candidate to have the willingness and capability to learn what is necessary in this regard. Thus we have planned a flexible induction period in which the new post holder will be supported and trained by the Treasurer. The post, like that of all Peace Partners Trustees, is of three years duration.

To find out more about this you can contact David Hughes, [email protected].

Treasurer

We are seeking a Treasurer. A new post as a result of splitting the Finance Trustee role into two.

This is an opportunity for the right person to help this small UK Charity play a key part in initiatives to help ordinary people pursue peace in their lives;

Peace Partners works with like minded agencies in this capacity, both as a fund raising vehicle and in promoting and supporting the Peace Education Programme in the UK. Our main partner in this endeavour is the Prem Rawat Foundation, an international tax exempt non profit organisation, and the creator of the Peace Education programme;

Working with our Bookkeeping Clerk, the Treasurer is responsible to the Finance Trustee for ensuring that the Charity’s accounts are kept up to date with Xero accounting software. Supported by a relatively small number of loyal donors we have a turnover in the region of £10-15,000 in most years;

The post holder will have or need to develop a working grasp of Charity Law, online payment systems and our accounting software. We expect the successful candidate to have the willingness and capability to learn what is necessary in this regard. Thus we have planned a flexible induction period in which the new post holder will be supported and trained by our acting Treasurer and Finance Trustee.

To find out more about this you can contact the acting Treasurer Christopher Pease [email protected] or David Hughes [email protected].
