Volunteering Opportunities We are looking to expand our team of volunteers, who provide the essential - and invaluable - support needed for Peace Partners' work. We would welcome expressions of interest in the following vacancies: Finance Trustee
We are looking for a Finance Trustee. This is a new position created by splitting the formerly combined role of Trustee and Treasurer into two: Finance Trustee and Treasurer. This is an opportunity for the right person to help this small UK Charity play a key part in initiatives to help ordinary people pursue peace in their lives; Peace Partners works with like minded agencies in this capacity, both as a fund raising vehicle and in promoting and supporting the Peace Education Programme in the UK. Our main partner in this endeavour is the Prem Rawat Foundation, an international tax exempt non profit organisation, and the creator of the Peace Education programme.The Finance Trustee as the guardian of the Charity’s financial integrity has a key role in the decision making of the board, and supervision of the small finance team consisting of Treasurer, Bookkeeper and Donor Liaison Secretary; The post holder will have or need to develop a working grasp of Charity Law, online payment systems and our accounting software. We expect the successful candidate to have the willingness and capability to learn what is necessary in this regard. Thus we have planned a flexible induction period in which the new post holder will be supported and trained by the Treasurer. A new post as a result of splitting the Finance Trustee role into two. This is an opportunity for the right person to help this small UK Charity play a key part in initiatives to help ordinary people pursue peace in their lives; Peace Partners works with like minded agencies in this capacity, both as a fund raising vehicle and in promoting and supporting the Peace Education Programme in the UK. Our main partner in this endeavour is the Prem Rawat Foundation, an international tax exempt non profit organisation, and the creator of the Peace Education programme; Working with our Bookkeeping Clerk, the Treasurer is responsible to the Finance Trustee for ensuring that the Charity’s accounts are kept up to date with Xero accounting software. Supported by a relatively small number of loyal donors we have a turnover in the region of £10-15,000 in most years; The post holder will have or need to develop a working grasp of Charity Law, online payment systems and our accounting software. We expect the successful candidate to have the willingness and capability to learn what is necessary in this regard. Thus we have planned a flexible induction period in which the new post holder will be supported and trained by our acting Treasurer and Finance Trustee.
