VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES WITH PEACE PARTNERS

24/5/2025

As a Registered Charity, Peace Partners is able to support its work and that of its Partners through publicity on our media channels and website, and by making appeals for help funding projects. It has the advantage of being able to claim Gift Aid on behalf of donors who support both the work of the Peace Partners and the projects we are supporting.

It regularly supports appeals for humanitarian aid in conjunction with its partner,
The Prem Rawat Foundation, and gives grants to teams engaged in the Peace Education Programme for equipment and materials.

As the Charity grows there are a number of Volunteer Opportunities to join the team.

If you would like to volunteer for any of these roles please send an email to: [email protected].

Warm regards,
The Peace Partners Team.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES WITH PEACE PARTNERS

Volunteering

Finance Trustee

As a Trustee – a position of trust within the charity – the Finance Trustee is responsible to the Board of Trustees for the financial integrity of the Charity. This involves:
  • Working with and supervising the Treasurer and Bookkeepers who keep the monthly accounts up to date.
  • Ensuring that the charity has systems in place that work effectively and transparently, so that they are resistant to fraud.
  • Gaining a thorough understanding of how the Charity’s financial systems work and the roles of the different members of the team. This information can be found in the document: “Peace Partners Financial Systems”.
  • The preparation of the annual accounts and report for the Trustee Board, HMRC tax return and Charity Commission.
  • As a member of the Trustee Board, the Finance Trustee advises on financial matters and contributes to their joint decision making. This includes sharing the chair with the others in the monthly board meetings.
It would help if applicants have previous or current experience in accountancy, or a working knowledge of budgeting from a management perspective.

Partnership Manager

The Partnership Manager is responsible for, not only for maintaining close links with existing Partners, ensuring close cooperation in promoting their work, but for building a network of new partners who share common purpose with the Charity.
The successful candidate will be experienced in networking and building relationships at a high level with leaders of organisations.

Promotion of the Peace Education Programme

The successful candidate will need to have a comprehensive understanding of the Peace Education Programme, sufficient to be able to present it to organisations either in person or on communication platforms.

They will have strong networking skills, along with the ability to tailor and deliver presentations to the decision-makers in local councils and charities.

A knowledge of the local teams being formed by Peace Partners to deliver the Programme is essential, and the ability to work with them and make introductions at the right time is important.
