Abi Patrick, Partners' recently appointed social media manager, has written about our Blog Competition as a guest writer on the US based 'Heart of the Matter' blog.
"With so many countries at war these days, civilians caught in the crossfire, escalating climate change, and the increasing amount of people not having an adequate supply of food or water, it would be fair to say that the goal of achieving peace on Planet Earth seems to be moving further out of our reach. And while many people may assume that peace will never be achieved, there are quite a number of us who continue to do everything we can to make it happen .... "

Oldham 'Mayor of Peace' inauguration
Peace Partners' partner Oldham Peace Talks have advised us the exciting news that Wednesday 18th. May saw the inauguration of councillor Derek Heffernan as Mayor of Oldham. Already appointed Oldham's first 'Champion of Peace', he said "I would like to be known as 'Mayor of Peace' for this great borough. Oldham council was the first local authority in the UK to sign the European Pledge to Peace. Wherever I visit I will take that message with me. You put Oldham at the forefront and we need to stay there. We will join other cities and nations seeking to create a 'culture of peace' in Europe."

Peace Education Programme (PEP) Developments
Over the coming months the process of starting and running a Peace Education Programme will be streamlined and simplified so please keep an eye on the TPRF website for new information.
The PEP is a wonderful resource that can help human beings have the opportunity to discover personal peace. The course of 10 workshops has a well-devised curriculum, quality supporting materials and clearly stated objectives. It is easy to facilitate and is now being discovered online by organisations that can apply to facilitate it themselves for their staff or clients.
As well as the 10-session Peace Education Programme, a new programme of ‘PEP Supplemental Material’ is now available. This PEP Supplemental Material has shorter videos than before and was done as a response to the many requests for shorter videos for those who have difficulty concentrating, including: people in rehab centres, the sick or elderly in hospitals or residential centres, cancer support centres, and young people, under 18. Information is not yet available on the website so please contact the PEP help desk at email@example.com
A further programme called PEAK with similar themes to PEP will be ready later in 2016. This course has been designed to be continually updated with new content and conveniently accessible to anyone who wishes to explore a deeper understanding of human potential. Register your interest here.
