Supporters of Peace Partners may be interested to learn about the recent national radio broadcasts by a group of young people, now known as Calle Paz y Respeto, which have been highlighted in a new video 'Peace is in the Air' featured in The Prem Rawat Foundation's currently running Looking Forward Appeal. Back in 2018, at an event at the inaugural Croydon Festival of Peace, Peace Partners hosted the UK premiere of the documentary 'Peace is Inevitable'. It tells the story of how group members, formerly an Ecuadorian youth gang, radically changed their way of life after attending The Prem Rawat Foundation’s Peace Education Programme workshops. In 2019 a further screening of the documentary was hosted at Croydon's David Lean Cinema, this time with a presentation from the documentary's makers, and a live link to former gang members in Ecuador. Then, for International Day of Day 2020, Peace Partners volunteer Wendy Martin arranged a virtual interview with Paul Murtha, director of The Vibrant Village Foundation, who had personally introduced them to the workshops. Throughout June or July, we’re asking you to join #TeamPeacePartners as we fundraise for Centrepoint and support young homeless people. The concept is simple – commit to taking on a challenge throughout the month of June and raise money to support young people on their journey.
And you won't be alone! You'll be running, walking, dancing alongside other members of #TeamPeacePartners and together we hope to raise a fantastic sum for Centrepoint. We ask you to try to complete your challenge during the month of June or July and submit all of your monies by the end of August. We’ll be awarding prizes for the most innovative challenges and to the fundraiser who gets the most sponsorship! Click here to find out more about the fundraising challenge. If you would like to support but are not able to participate, click the 'DONATE NOW' button below to make a donation towards #TeamPeacePartners fundraising efforts. Just £12 a month will enable Centrepoint to provide a room for a homeless young person.
This June, we are supporting our charity partner The Prem Rawat Foundation's Looking Forward Appeal.
During these times of turmoil, your support lends a helping hand to people when they need it the most, fostering hope and providing practical necessities. Please donate below. Eligible UK taxpayers can also claim Gift Aid. For more about the appeal visit: https://tprf.org/looking-forward-appeal/ |
