Peace Partners report submitted this year (2020/21) to Associazione Percorsi, the secretariat to the Pledge:Thank you for your invitation to notify you of the activities we have been pursuing, during the period 21st September 2020 to 21st September 2021, as a signatory to the Pledge to Peace.
As a UK charity we believe that the initiatives we have undertaken have contributed towards promoting a culture of peace amongst the individuals who have been their beneficiaries, and amongst the volunteers who have participated in contributing to making them happen. This year our activities, influenced by the circumstances of the on-going Covid 19 pandemic, have included: PEACE EDUCATION

In conclusion, we would like to mention that, in addition to the beneficiaries, up to 50 volunteers participated in these activities. The personal responses we have received from both groups has been overwhelmingly positive. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the Pledge to Peace. We feel it is a wonderful honour to be involved, it inspires us to increase our efforts to make a difference, and is helping us further appreciate the importance of peace both personally, and as members of our communities. The Pledge to Peace was established 10 years ago - on the 28th November
A main speaker at the Royal Victoria Dock event was Richard Outram, from the Oldham Pledge to Peace Forum. Some of the first organisations to commit to the Pledge in the UK came from Oldham, including the Council and a number of schools. To date more than 50 signatories have joined the Oldham Pledge to Peace Forum, to help foster mutual collaboration and growth. Especially impactful in shaping Peace Partners team’s enthusiasm to take part in the Pledge's call to action, was a special presentation about it at the Gladstone Room, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster in June 2014. The keynote speech was given by Prem Rawat, who also answered questions from the invited audience. You can watch his talk here: Despite the curtailing of activities of all kinds as a consequence of the global pandemic, Sunday the 28th of November is surely a day of celebration for all those who desire a world rooted in the values of peace and well-being. Indeed, and especially at this time, the opportunities for an expanded an adoption of the Pledge in the years to come seem almost limitless.
