We want to let you know about the changes we’re making in the way our donations are managed. Until now, our website has offered a choice of causes for which a donation will be used. For example people might choose to donate to The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) or to UK Peace projects. But from 1st April our website will no longer offer this choice.
In accounting terms, the resources and time needed to keep separate funds for several specific causes requires a lot of volunteer time and effort, and actually makes our charity’s accounts less transparent. As Peace Partners is a small charity with very limited volunteer time we have therefore made the practical decision to remove the choices on the website so that all donations are directed to ‘Where the Need is Greatest’. For the past five years we have donated funds to TPRF amounting to roughly twice the amounts specified by donors, and in the future we intend to maintain and even strengthen that relationship. Anyone donating to Peace Partners can feel confident that funds will continue to be directed to TPRF, with the added benefit of Gift Aid. And for UK projects, we maintain a healthy balance so we can respond to requests for TPRF’s Peace Education Programme to be delivered in UK communities. Donors choosing that cause can also be confident that Peace Partners will continue to support Peace Education in the UK. From 1st April 2022, all donations to Peace Partners are being treated as part of our General Fund, which will give us the flexibility to use the money to further our charitable aims where need is greatest. One exception will be where we support an urgent humanitarian appeal. All donations to that appeal will be used promptly in response to the humanitarian crisis and, as usual, we will try to add more from our General Fund to boost the impact. We hope this explains these changes and that you will continue your valuable support for Peace Partners. If you have any questions regarding this message, or more generally about Peace Partners' ongoing activities, please do get in touch by emailing info@peacepartners.co.uk.

Vital Equipment and Materials purchased thanks to funding. A Big Thank-you!One of the aims of Peace Partners is to promote access to personal peace, so we are very pleased to continue to advocate The Prem Rawat Foundation's unique Peace Education Programme. This is an innovative series of video-based workshops that help people discover their own inner strength and personal peace. The programme has proven effective in a variety of settings especially within humanitarian organizations. As a charity we are proud to work with such organizations and help support these workshops in the UK. Thanks to funding and generous donations from our supporters we have been able to purchase equipment and materials that are proving to be such a help in Peace Partners’ delivery of the Peace Education Programme:
The programme is created and distributed by The Prem Rawat Foundation. The Foundation provides access to the course materials to organizations free of charge. The materials consist of videos, workbooks and facilitator guides. Thanks to the financial support that we’ve received for The Peace Education Programme in the UK, we’ve been able to pay for the cost of printing those written materials for organizations who need such help.
It’s a rewarding experience to see students proudly carrying their beautifully bound and printed workbooks to the programme sessions. When the course ends, they retain a record of their learning within their book, along with any additional material pertaining to the workshop themes, for future referral – so the learning can continue! We’d like to say a heart-felt thanks to our supporters, donors and volunteers who have helped to make this happen. We are in the fortunate position of knowing we have funds available to support those who wish to run Peace Education Programmes in the UK. The Peace Partners team would like to wish you a joyous and peaceful Festive Season! The end of a year invites us to look back and review what has happened during the period. The first months of 2021 were promising, and a hope started to blossom that a ‘normal’ life was within reach. This upbeat feeling of hope and positivity manifested itself in lots of different activities at Peace Partners, including a virtual fundraiser Quiz, celebrating our 5th anniversary, and a Sponsor Thank You webinar. But then later in the summer something unexpected happened which took us by surprise: the resignation of our CEO and founder, Juli Hammersley. It took quite a few months for us to come to terms with what was a big change, and – in the end – we had to accept that we needed to modify some of the goals we had set ourselves for 2021. With the New Year fast approaching we wish you a healthy and prosperous 2022. As a team and as a small charity we face new challenges, but we hope that you will feel – as we do – inspired to make this world a happier and more peaceful place. Warmest wishes The Peace Partners team |
